Hi Jessica,
I am an owner of the land in Athol you discuss in this article. It is private property and is marked as such. There are cameras going up to monitor trespassing and any other illegal activity (like spray painting our beautiful trees). The cabin you mention and the iron gate only date back to the 1970’s. While the story is entertaining, it is merely a legend. If any of you or any of your readers care to visit the area, we respectfully request they honor the Private Property signs which cover all of the land from the gate up to the Petersham Town line. The Petersham Town Forest is open to public access, but our land is not. Thanks!

Is there a way one could gain permission to explore your land. My ex and I are novice ghost hunters and would like to explore it. Please reach out either way
